It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Joseph Johnson Jr., Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Johnson passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joseph Johnson, Jr. was born February 27, 1950, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Joseph Johnson, Sr. and Lizzie Kate Hitchcock Johnson.

Joseph had a genuine love for his family and genuine love for a good cold diet coke. Junior loved to travel and visit new places with his family.

On April 3, 2023, Joseph departed his earthly life. Joseph was preceded in death by his father Joseph Sr. and mother Lizzie Kate.

His memory will always be cherished by his beloved baby sister, Trish, whom he affectionately called Cricket, his sister, Carolyn and his brother, Harold; two brothers-in-law, Benjamin Pelt of Milledgeville, GA, Lawrence McClinton of Milledgeville, GA; one sister-in-law, Carol Johnson; his nieces, Bridget Kelsey of Atlanta, GA; Kimberly Jones of Milledgeville, GA, Katrina Pelt of Atlanta GA, Pamela Forde of Milledgeville, GA, Tracy McClinton of Milledgeville, GA, Tonya Ingram of Milledgeville, GA; one nephew, Troy McClinton of Milledgeville, GA; nine aunties, Hattie (Robert) Hurt, Louise Halcomb; Mary Julia Waller, Marvie Johnson, Shirley (Willie) Styles, Jewel Bennett, Beatrice King, all of Milledgeville, GA, Lucille Rosborough of Jersey City, NJ, Margaret Hitchcock of NYC; one uncle, Melvin Hitchcock (Tonya) of Milledgeville, GA; a host of cousins also survive him.
