On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, God whispered, “Well done thy good and faithful servant” and called our beloved Brother Joseph Densley from labor to reward.
Mr. Joseph Densley was born August 30, 1937 to the parentage of Joseph “Joe” Densley and Izola Simmons Densley both who preceded him in death. Additionally, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Ms. Annie Mae Densley, Mr. Willie Densley, Sr., Mrs. Eula Bell Smith, Mrs. Mary L. Myrick and Ms. Bettye J. Cummings; great niece, Mrs. Lawonda Williams.
At an early age, he realized that one day his earthly tabernacle would dissolve, and he desired to spend eternity with the Lord. He joined Parker Springs Baptist Church. Brother Densley was a faithful church member. Also, he was a member of the Sons of Wisdom and Daughter of Light Society #2.
Joseph was a 1957 graduate of Toomsboro RosenWald High School in Wilkinson County. He was employed with Engelhard Corporation for a short term and later was employed at Central State Hospital where he was a supervisor before he retired in 1997.
Joseph married the love of this life Alberta Williams-Densley on November 13, 1962. She also preceded him in death in April 2018.
Joseph loved his family and his friends. He enjoyed talking about how things were as he and his siblings were growing up. He also loved to drink a nice, cold Coca-Cola.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, Mr. Freddie (Sylvia) Densley of Gordon, and Mr. George (Gladys) Densley of Milledgeville; two sisters, Missionary Martha Bacon of Warrenton and Ms. Irene Densley of Gordon; sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Densley of Gordon; brother-in-law, Dea. Jack Smith, Sr. of Gordon; aunt, Ms. Nellie Densley of Atlanta; three great nephews whom he assisted with rearing, Alexander (Nailah) Lowe of Valdosta, Antwon Lowe of Milledgeville and Andre Lowe of Gordon; a devoted nephew, Willie Densley, Jr.; two devoted nieces, Kim Myrick and Anita Myrick; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
