Johnny Lee Mundie, Sr. Obituary

Johnny Lee Mundie, Sr. was born on July 18, 1959 to the late Jessie Fleming and Maple Mundie in Augusta, GA. Maple later married Johnnie Nelson and together they raised five children.

Johnny was no stranger to hard work.  At an early age he started his first job on Junior Napiers Dairy Farm, working before and after school. Johnny graduated from Baldwin High School in 1977.

It was at Baldwin High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Mary Hart. In 1978 they were married and throughout their 47 years of marital bliss they welcomed four children.

With his impeccable work ethic and dedication, he went on to become the District Manager of Circulation for The Union Recorder, where he dedicated 28 years of service and was affectionately known as the paper man.

Johnny was a beloved citizen of the Baldwin County community. He never met a stranger. In 1993, he became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church Number 1. On September 15, 1996, he was ordained as a Deacon. Throughout his membership, Johnny served in several capacities, including Assistant Sunday School teacher, finance committee and he often volunteered to drive the church van to assist members with commuting to churches within the community.
