Mr. Johnny Shafford Adams Jr (Lil John) was born April 28th, 1960, to the parentage of the late Mr. Johnny Adams Sr. and the late Mrs. Flora Morgan Adams of Milledgeville, GA.

Lil John attended the public schools of Baldwin County. After High school he was employed by Rheem Manufacturing, where he retired after 30 plus years of service.

In 1984 while working at Rheem, Lil John met the love of his life Denise (Niecy) Ford Adams. The two decided that they were inseparable and decided to marry on December 28th, 1986. On September 3rd, 1998, the Adams and Ford family were shattered after the loss of Denise, her mother Essie Ford and grandmother, Louise Williams.  Lil John and the families suffered a heartbreaking loss.

On Saturday, June 14, 2026, Lil John entered into rest. His memories shall always be cherished by his family. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Rondal (Bro) Adams.  

Survivors include: his siblings Brenda Butts, Ronnie Adams (Vivian), Ricky Adams (Sarah), Gail Simmons (Travis), Lisa Adams, Shanta Durden, Shawn Durden, Bernard Jones, Everette Jones, Derrick Hall, Craig Adams, Jerrell Dixon, Crystal Adams; devoted in-laws: Darryl (Davina) Ford, Regina (Willis) McMichael, Slyvester (Annette) Ford, Dwayne (Valerie) Ford, and Glenn (Jeanette) Ford; aunts and uncles: Beverly (MacArthur) Adams McClurkin, Ulysses (Carolyn) Adams Jr., Charlie (Havalyn) Adams, Marilyn Adams Pope, Rebecca Adams James, Gussie Adams, Gloria (Robert) Dunmeyer; a devoted cousin, Eric Adams Sr.; best friends, Eddie Arnold and Charles Brantley; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
