John F. Michael, Sr.

Mr. John F. Michael, Sr., of Sparta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Washington County Region Medical Center, Sandersville, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held privately with family.

Dr. John Franklin Michael, Sr. was born May 4, 1944 to the late Mr. John Emmer Michael and the late Mrs. Mary Logan Michael in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.

 Dr. Michael received his doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee. Called to educate Dr. Michael often shared his passion and beliefs in the power of education. He was retired after many years of educating and began to enjoy his gift of artistry. His final tenure as an educator was at The Fort Valley State University.

 During his young adult life in Atlanta, Georgia he met the love of his life Mrs. Carolyn S. Scott    Michael in which he enjoyed more than thirty years of marriage. This union was blessed with two sons: Mr. John L. Michael, Jr. and Mr. Ajani T. Michael. Dr. Michael also has one sister: Glenice Maxwell.

 Dr. Michael’s legacy of love and striving for   higher education will always be remembered with his family, former students, and peers.
