Joanne was born October 13, 1948, in Hancock County, Sparta, GA, to the parentage of the late Eddie Lee Bridges, Sr. and Nellie Mae Washington Bridges.
She attended school in Baldwin County and graduated from Boddie High Class of 1966. Joanne was employed at Central State Hospital as an HST II for thirty years.
Joanne married John Weaks, Sr. early in life. John preceded her in death. Later in life, Joanne married Robert Hartry, Sr., who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her baby girl, Ebonee Weaks Scott; brother, Eddie Bridges, Jr.
Joanne truly enjoyed life. She loved to shop, get her nails and hair done, talk on her phone and attend church with her friends and family. She definitely loved her family vacations. Joanne was loved by everyone she encountered. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church until her health declined.
Wednesday, May 1, 2025, Joanne departed her earthly life after fulfilling her earthly commission.
Joanne leaves to cherish her memories: two loving daughters, Stephanie Weaks Warren and Ursula Weaks; one son, Anthony Weaks, all of Milledgeville, GA; two sisters, Patricia Bridges Glenn (Jeffery), Donna Barnes, all of Milledgeville, GA; one brother, Edward Bridges (Sherry) of Detroit, MI; two lovely, devoted granddaughters, Azaria Warren and Aliyah Weaks; four other loving grandchildren, Akiria Warren, Tyreck Sands, Ashiyah Scott and Makayla Scott; one special great grandson that she adored dearly, Jahston Kash Adams; three additional great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; devoted niece, Sheila Bridges Lawson; devoted friends, Von Williams and Francis Grimes.
