Mr. Jermaine Conell Ellison, affectionately known as “Big Boi” & “Ben” was born July 26, 1950, to the parentage of the late Ms. Dorothy Lee Reese Ellison and Mr. John E. Ellison, Sr. in Augusta, GA.
He attended the Putnam County School System. He began driving trucks at age seventeen and did so until his health declined. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church in Milledgeville, GA, where he served as a Deacon and an armor bearer. His playful nature and need to lighten every room he entered was always followed by laughter. His love for his family was never ending just like his love for a cellphone and a need to take pictures of everything he saw.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Diane Ellison; mother, Ms. Dorothy Lee Reese Ellison; and father, Mr. John E. Ellison, Sr.
Jermaine is survived by a devoted wife, LaCosta Ellison of Milledgeville, GA; son, Dontavious Ellison of Columbia, Tennessee; stepdaughters, DeKayla Foster and Daija Hawkins, both of Milledgeville, GA; sister, Linda Griffin (Clarence) of Eatonton, GA; brothers, John E. Ellison, Jr. (Jackie), Johnny Ellison, both of Eatonton, GA, Bradley Ellison of Clearwater, FL; special friends, Lank Mahone of Madison, GA, Roger Boulware, Sr. of High Point, North Carolina, Gary Richardson of Milledgeville, GA, and Darren Ellison of Athens, GA. He had a special bond with his great nephew, Bobby “B.J.” West. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
