Mrs. Jeanette Simpson-Canty was born December 16, 1948, to the late parents of Mary Jane Liggins & Lee Authur Simpson, Sr. of Milledgeville, GA.

Jeanette worked at Central State Hospital for seventeen years as a Housekeeper. She liked cooking for family until her health declined. She loved to watch TV. She has a unique and one-of-a-kind laugh. She also had a sweet and loving soul. She loved to take care of her grandchildren. She loved to smile and laugh all the time. She was beautiful inside and out.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, God called Jeanette home to her final resting place. Jeanette was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Canty; brother, Johnny Simpson; the late Mary Jane and Lee Author Simpson, Sr.

She leaves her love and memories to her husband, Odom Canty, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA; sons, Odom Canty III, Donteyce Canty; daughters, India Canty, India (Terrian) Bishop, Gwendolyn Simpson; sisters, Bernice Taylor, Vera Ann Williams, Devon Adams, Carolyn Simpson; half-sisters, Leila Thornton and Subretta Clemons; brothers, Marion (Shirley) Simpson, Clarence Simpson, Ralph (Bessie Mae) Simpson, Lee Authur Simpson, Jr., all of Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren, Oerion Canty, Jermyius Canty, Ta'Syiah Bishop, Terry Bishop, Jr., Brittney Simpson, Jimmeshia Byrd, Ronda Kelsey, Keiandre Simpson; great grandchildren, Quantavious Kelsey, Za'Keya Kelsey, Brayon Kelsey, Jamir Barnes, Zi'mora Mosley, Serenity Byrd, Keinaya Simpson; sisters-in-law, Christine Canty, Eva Mae Harris; brothers-in-law, Rico Harris, Jesse Canty, Authur Canty, Lantlam Williams; devoted family members, Marquita Russell, Wy'Keem Harris, Joaquin Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members; devoted cousin/friend, Carolyn (Caltee) Pinkston, Gloria Jackson.
