Mr. James Lawrence, of 432 Lake Laurel Road, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Green Pasture Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment was held in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Mr. James Calvin Lawrence, Radio Seaman Apprentice, United States Navy, was born on March 20, 1954 in Milledgeville, Georgia. His parents are Mrs. Lula Mae Larkin and Rev. Virgil Larkin.
James “Tute” as he was affectionately called, grew up in Milledgeville, Georgia and attended Baldwin County Schools. After graduating from high school in 1972 and he joined the United States Navy. Serving four years in the Navy, James moved back to Milledgeville where he worked at Grumman Aerospace for twenty-one years. He later retired from Rayonier Industries. He was married to Venita F. Lawrence for twenty-one years.
At an early age, James joined the Green Pasture Baptist Church. He was very skilled and handy. He enjoyed fixing and building things. Anyone could call on him to repair or fix anything. He also was a big lover of music. He loved all kinds. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Westerns.
He was preceded in death by his devoted grandmother, Mrs. Luberta Carter, one aunt, four uncles.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his children: Ms. Tia. T. Lawrence, Mr. Jalyn C. Lawrence; four grandchildren: Jaden Kyles, Jordan Kyles, Braylen Lawrence, Brielle Lawrence; his parents, Mrs. Lula Mae Larkin, Rev. Virgil Larkin; one sister, Ms. Tammy Little (Trenton Little, Nathan McLaurin); one God son, Mr. Loxie Davis; devoted half brother and sister, Mr. Louis Brown, Lois (Arshapella Brown, June Baby Brown) and Ms. Kimberly Cooper; a host of other sisters and brothers; one aunt, Mrs. Gladys (George) Densley; one God aunt, Mrs. Lucille (George) Richardson; a host of nieces, nephews, and several other relatives and friends.
