It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. James Brown, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Brown passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 3:00 PM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment to follow from the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. James Otis Brown of Milledgeville, GA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 02, 2022, at the Atrium Health Navicent Center of Macon, GA. He was affectionately known as “Boy Red” by his family and friends.
James was born on February 26th, 1946, to the Paris of the late Elizabeth brown and the late James Brown. He was born in Milledgeville, GA and raised on Hwy 49 and Brown Crossing. James attended the Baldwin County public school system. He worked at Cherokee Canning Factory and Sambo Hill’s Farm as a truck driver.
Spending time with family was a big part of his life and he really enjoyed fellowshipping with his family. James was devoted to his family. He enjoyed helping family members with their small kids and oftentimes he would give the kids money and shower them with gifts. “Boy Red” loved people, cooking, gardening, and fishing. He greeted people with a smile and a kind heart.
James leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted uncle and devoted aunt, Willie Louis Johnson and Lorena Pearl Johnson of Milledgeville, GA; his sisters, Gloria Jean Roberson of Lake City, SC, Sandra Brown Harrison of Milledgeville, GA, and the late sister, Lillie Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
