Jack Smith Sr. Obituary

Deacon Jack Smith, Sr. was born on May 25, 1942, to the late Deacon Robert Smith, Sr. and Mother Annie Mae Smith. He peacefully departed this life on May 12, 2026.

Deacon Smith attended the Wilkinson County School System and later became employed with Freeport/Engelhard Kaolin, where
he faithfully worked until his retirement. A devoted man of faith, he gave his life to Christ at an early age and remained a dedicated member of Gordon Church of God in Christ throughout his life. He loved the church, enjoyed singing, and found great joy in worship and fellowship. In addition to his love for the Lord, he also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He was united in holy matrimony to Eula Bell Densley, and to this union three children were born: Vivian Syrena, Jack C., and James Derrick. His beloved wife, Eula Bell Smith, and daughter, Vivian Syrena, preceded him in death. The following siblings preceded him in death: Ethel Mae Dupont, Robert L. Smith, Annie Lois Smith, Jessie Kate Miller, Clarence Smith, Ella Mae Smith, Mary Ann Smith, Margaret Smith, and Willie Joe Smith.

Deacon Smith leaves to cherish his loving memory: his sons, Jack C. Smith and James Derrick Smith; granddaughter, Gloria Anita Smith; sisters, Dorothy Adside (Curtis) and Brenda Bonner (Walter); brothers, Albert Smith (Myrna) and Marvin Smith (Bertha); along with a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure his life, love, and legacy.
Though he will be deeply missed, his faith, kindness, and devotion to family and church will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
