On February 10, 1962, Iantha Marie Farley was born to the late Johnny & Eva Sanford in Milledgeville, GA. She was the nineth child in a family of eleven children.
As an early age, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior and was baptized at St. Mary Baptist Church.
As a young woman, she graduated from BHS, Class of 1980. She went on to GC&SU where she completed her certification to become a paraprofessional. She also became a certified lifeguard at the college. During her tenure as a teacher, she impacted so many lives and started making her lasting impression on the community. Later on, she furthered her education again to become a LPN. She embarked on her career at the BCSO where she continued to make her mark.
Her first marriage produced four beautiful girls that were her pride and joy. But her world was her eight grandchildren that affectionately called her “Ma-Ma”.
In 1997, she met the love of her life, Eddie James Farley. They married in 1999 and spent twenty-two wonderful years of life together until death did them part when Eddie transitioned from labor to reward.
Iantha meant so much to so many people. She wore her heart on her sleeve and showed the true definition of what it meant to be a wife, mother, sister, friend, and mentor. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and charismatic personality. To have known her was to love her and she will truly be missed.
