It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Helen Hill O’Neal, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mrs. O’Neal passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Carthage, New York.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of All Faiths, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed in the Hill Family Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.

The Matriarch of the Hill Family
Mrs. Helen O’Neal was born on July 19, 1948 in Gray, Georgia to the parentage of the late Justine Miller Hill and Tommie Hill, Sr.
Helen departed this life on Friday, February 4th, 2022 at the Carthage Hospital in New York.
Helen was educated in the Baldwin County School System. She graduated from J.F. Boddie High School in the class of 1966. Helen was crowned Miss Boddie High on May 7th, 1966.
Helen O’Neal became a healthcare provider at a young age. For 32 years she was a healthcare provider at Central State Hospital where she received many honors and awards for service. Additionally, Helen worked at Chapel Wood Nursing Home, Green Acres and Oconee Center of Behavior Health for over 10 years. She was a dedicated worker.
At an early age Mrs. O’Neal accepted Christ into her heart and joined the formal Rock of Ages church in Milledgeville GA.
BoBye, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was the matriarch of the Hill Family as well as the regulator. Always stating exactly what she meant. She helped to raise her siblings. She loved to travel domestically and internationally with her friends and family. When not traveling she enjoyed planting her flowers and cooking.
For her children she was a caregiver, protector and provider. As a great grandmother she was affectionally called “Jam Mama” and was the Candy Giver. She loved her grandchildren she taught her granddaughters Ashley and Tiara how to firmly walk in womanhood and Aria how to accomplish everything that she wants. She taught Aden and Kenneth that they are always loved.
To cherish her memories, Helen leaves behind her loved one, RC Bundrage, Sr.; her daughter Hope Smith; her son RC Bundrage Jr., daughter, Chaka Bundrage-McGee (Isaiah); one sister, Barbara Andrews (Leroy) and five brothers: Ricky Hill (Beverly) and Billy Curtis Hill, Larry Hill, Bobby Hill (Veronica), all of Milledgeville GA and George Hill (Barbara), of Forsyth, GA. Three siblings proceed her in death Josephine Hill Cawthon, Ella Vanessa Hill and Tommy Hill, Jr.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Ashley Pitts (John), Tiara Bundrage, Kenneth Smith, Jr, Aden McGee and Aria McGee; five great grandchildren: Peyton Moore, Jaimee Pitts, John Pitts, IV, Jaxon Pitts and Taniyah Allen; two aunts, Ellerstine Manuel and Betty Jean Pitts, both of Gray, GA and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
