Hazel M. Jackson

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Hazel M. Jackson, 60 of Milledgeville, Georgia. Ms. Jackson passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022.

Graveside services were held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Hazel Marie Jackson was born on June 19th, 1961 in Baldwin County to the late J.W. Jackson Sr. and the late Mildred Balkcom. Hazel attended Baldwin High School, where she graduated with the class of 1979. She worked various jobs, from babysitting to working at factories, to working at restaurants. She worked at Central State Hospital, where she retired as a CNA. Hazel loved sewing, cooking and making sure everyone was fed. Hazel transitioned on February 25th, 2022. She is preceded in death by her only beloved son, Tarryl L. Butts. She leaves to cherish in her memory Taniesha Wilson (Marquiton); two sisters, Cheryl Roach (Bruce) and Dorothy Hartry; one brother, Curtis Jackson, Sr. (Yvonne); four grandchildren, Tykeria Butts, Tykeshia Butts, Jah'niya Wilson, and Jameria Wilson; one great grandson, James Romele Thomas; devoted friends, Margaret Taylor, Priscilla Graves, and Ouida Bridge; a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
