At this time, it is with sorrow and joy that we are here to remember the life and to celebrate the homegoing of our beloved, Gwendolyn Ruby Stubbs. To know her was to love her. Thursday, November 12, 2021. Gwendolyn departed from her earthly life after fulfilling her earthly commission. She loved and dedicated her life in the service to others. Gwen, as she was lovingly called, was born March 28, 1949, in Milledgeville, GA to the late Ananias Stubbs and the late Ruby Bonner Stubbs. She was educated in the public schools of Baldwin County. During her teen years, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church in the Harrisburg Community. She worked various jobs in her life, but her first love was that of being a caregiver to nieces and nephews. Truly, Gwen will be missed greatly. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Christine Stubbs, Vivian Abrams, Francine Dumas, and brothers: Perry Harden, Harold Stubbs, and her nephew, James Dumas, Jr. Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Catherine (Dennis) Brannick, Jacquelyn (Alphonso) Havior; one brother, Calvin Stubbs; sister[1]in-law, Nettie Harden; uncles, Deacon Andrew Bonner, Deacon Griffin Bonner, Reverend Henry Bonner; aunts, Mary Bonner, Dee Bonner, Chiquita Davis; devoted nephews, Kevin Dumas, Norris Dumas, Ronald Stubbs, Marion Mason Jr., Kenneth Havior, Antonio Havior; devoted nieces, Barbara Dumas, Delois Dumas, Cynthia Smith, Michelle Green; a host of great nephews, nieces, family and friends.
