It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Gloria Moore, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Ms. Moore passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of All Faiths, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed in the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

On Thursday, March 31, 2022 God whispered to our beloved Gloria Jean Glenn Moore, “Well done thy good and faithful servant; enter into thy master’s Joy”. Gloria was born in March 16, 1954 to the parentage of the late Lumpkin and Christine Holsey Glenn. Gloria was preceded in death by her brother Mr. John Paul Glenn. “Glo Jo” or “Boot” as she was affectionately called was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was considered as the “Baywood Mom” as she guided the young men on Baywood Drive. Indeed, she was a jack of all trades. She could cook ant meal, sew any outfit, and be the comedian at any family engagement. Gloria was educated in the Baldwin County School system. She was a graduate of the Baldwin High School in 1972. “Glo Jo” was the life of the party, she enjoyed dancing and having a good time with her family. Gloria was employed at Central State Hospital as a Health Service Technician and then later became a Certified Nursing Assistant where she worked faithfully for 28.5 years. Gloria met and fell in love with Mr. Wilbert Myrick. He also fell in love with her daughter Tara whom he helped rear from the young age of eight. In addition to Wilbert raising Tara. Gloria assisted as well in raising his daughters, Kim and Anita Myrick. Eventually the Lord blessed them with two sons, Veontray and Decassio Myrick. Gloria leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughters: Tara (CJ) Johnson, Milledgeville, Ga., Kim and Anita Myrick, Gordon, Ga., two sons: Veontray (LeShondia) Myrick, and Decassio Myrick of Milledgeville, Ga., one God daughter: Alisha (Derrick) Giles Lawson and God son: Gilbert Jackson, of Milledgeville, Ga., grandchildren: NaQuanna (Tommy) Dozier, of Clayton County, Chanerica (Tarkett) Johnson, of Milledgeville, Ga., Kiara Johnson, Milledgeville, Ga., TreQuan Fox, Trevino Myrick, Timara and Timia Corbin, all of Gordon, Ga., Tariyah Harden, Athens, Ga., Camilla Myrick, Sparta, Ga., Aun’Dare’ Griffin, Keisha Summons, and JaDerrick Lawson, all of Milledgeville, Ga., four Great grandchildren: Taylin Dozier, Ty’Kierston Liggins, Car’liyah Hogan, and Chyna Myrick. Six Sisters: Betty (Henry) Reeves, Diane Glenn, Ann (Ezell) Jackson, Tammy Glenn, Hazel (Nelson) Francis, all of Milledgeville, Ga., Mary George, Athens, Ga., one brother: Lumpkin (Teresa) Glenn lll, Milledgeville, Ga., two devoted cousins: Emmanuel Watkins and Linda Austin, best friend: Gladys “Lucille” Reeves, devoted friend: Brenda Hill, four devoted nieces: Daphne Johnson, Sabrina Holsey, Nicole Hood, and Teriana “Monek” Boyington, a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
