It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Gianna S. Calvin, Milledgeville, Georgia. Gianna S. (Dixon) Calvin passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Griffin memorial Chapel, Milledgeville, Georgia. 

Gianna Samira Calvin, fondly referred to as GiGi / Tinky), the baby daughter of Hannah R. Dixon, who preceded her in death, and Xavier B. Calvin. Baby GiGi fought a good fight of life.

Gianna passed away at The Children’s Hospital NICU at Atrium Health Navicent, Macon, Georgia on Monday, April 24, 2023 surrounded by her family. Gianna was a miracle to her parents. During her brief visit on Earth, she experienced hugs & kisses, being held close by her parents and grandmother, being read to and was loved by her Mommy and Daddy and Grandparents. All who came into her presence loved her including the doctors and nurses and other hospital staff Gianna will be greatly missed.

Gianna is survived by her father, Xavier B. Calvin, her big brother, Kacey S. Calvin, grandparents, Louis Dixon and Lillian Cole, Willie Calvin and B. Lisette Hicks, great-grandmother, Patricia Hicks, aunts, Alicia Little, Le’Asia Little, Janay Thomas and Aaliyah Calvin, uncles, Roderick Little, Michael Calvin, Syntwaine Thomas and Dylan Gresham, god-father, Lester Barnes Jr. and numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins and other relatives.
