Geraldine Foston Wright was born May 6, 1944, to the parentage of Ed Foston, Jr. and Arline Jones Foston.
Geraldine was a proud graduate of J.F. Boddie High School, Class of 1962. After receiving her education, she was employed at Central State Hospital. She retired after thirty-five years of faithful and dedicated service. She was also employed with the Baldwin County School System as a Paraprofessional for nine years.
She was joined in matrimony to Alvin Wright for a period of fifty-seven years.
Geraldine joined Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her health began to decline. As a member, she served as a Deaconess, Ministry Leader (overseeing the Food and Flower Committees), and the Usher Board. Not only was she active in the church, she was also a member of the local Social and Savings Club. Geraldine was a kind, gentle person who never met a stranger. She loved flowers, cooking cakes and pies.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Foston, Eddie Foston, and Marion Foston; sister, Brenda Foston Ingram; sister-in-law, Shirley Foreman; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wright.
Gerladine is survived by her husband, Alvin Wright; son, Alvin Lamar Wright (Paula); seven grandchildren, Taswanna, Danerio, Jaquala, Syee, Teasha, Seanqavious and devoted granddaughter, Latifa Wright; great grandchildren, Essence, Skylar, Karmyn, Zayden and Amari; sisters, Barbara Smith, Linda (Wendell) Anderson of Milledgeville, GA, Dr. Mae Dickson of Gray, GA, and Cora Foston of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Marvin (Debbie) Foston, John Foston of Atlanta, GA; devoted great aunt, Mae Bell Echols of Atlanta, GA; devoted sisters-in-law, Ada Foston, Elizabeth Middlebrooks, Gloria Wright, Sylvia Wright, Jacqueline Wells, all of Milledgeville, GA, and Clifforine Echnock of Detroit, MI; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Wright of Milledgeville, GA, Robert (Sherry) Wright of Jonesboro, GA; a host of nieces, including a devoted niece/caregiver, Venesia Robinson, nephews, cousins; devoted caregivers, India Canty, Linda Mason, and Idella Ford; other relatives also survives her.
