Gennie Trawick Obituary

Mrs. Gennie Trawick, of 136 Cobb Road, Gordon, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Navicent Health Baldwin, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 3:00 PM from the Jones Chapel AME Church, Sparta, Georgia. Interment followed in Dunn's Hill Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mrs. Gennie Mae Trawick was a loving wife and mother. She always provided for her family. She taught her children to put God first in everything they do. She ensured they knew the importance of prayer and education. She ensured that all of her children received a quality education. She even worked for the Board of Education for over 30 years. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed time in her garden, her flowers and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Gennie Mae Trawick also known as “T.T” was born on May 20, 1938, to the parentage of the late Don Mason and the late Georgiana Walls Mason. She was proceeded in death by four brothers Mr. Don Mason Jr., Mr. Jasper Mason, Mr. Oliver Mason and Mr. James Mason; five sisters, Mrs. Georgia Mae Butts, Mrs. Louvenia Stanton, Mrs. Maude Butts, Mrs. Mary Butts and Ms. Geraldine Mason.

Mrs. Gennie Mae Trawick was educated in the Jones Chapel Community School System. At an early age she became a member of Jones Chapel Church and remained a faithful member until her health began to fail. Mrs. Gennie Mae Trawick married the love of her life, Mr. James Trawick Sr. From this union six children were born. They are also left her legacy of love; Ruth (Nathaniel) Patton of Marietta, GA, Bernestine (Roger) Hill of Milledgeville, GA, Sarah (Larryl) Trawick of Milledgeville, GA, Sandra (Jacob) Brown of Jonesboro, GA, James Trawick Jr. of Dekalb, GA, and Travette (Johnny) Jackson of Milledgeville, GA; four siblings, Rev. Bennie Mason Sr., Catherine Stephens, Everean Mitchell and Louise Grable; six sisters-in-law, Kate Mae Mason, Nettie (Darnphile) Valentine, Susie Valentine, Debra Trawick, Helen Trawick, Sarah Barnes; one brother-in-law, Alfred Trawick; one sister-n-law, Ruthie Mae (Hillman) Hurt. She has a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
