It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Fleta Ann Larkin, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Ms. Larkin passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home.
Fleta Ann Larkin was born on April 23, 1947 in Sparta, Georgia to the parentage of Mary Ellen and James Larkin. She grew up in the River Hill area and attended Baldwin County Public Schools. She operated a home daycare for approximately 20 years and also was employed at Baldwin County Hospital until her health declined. She enjoyed reading her bible, sewing, singing, doing crossword puzzles, braiding and styling hair. She was also a dynamic painter and enjoyed coloring as well. She was a mother figure to numerous family members and children in the community.
On March 9, the Lord called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Jeanette Harper, Ruthie Mae Ford, and Marie Covington; brothers: Alfred and James Michael Larkin. She is survived by her sister, Annie Pearl Dixon, of Milledgeville, Georgia; devoted nieces: Jacqueline Covington and Janiyah Covington Moody, of Stone Mountain Georgia, Stacey Covington, Kimora Farrar; nephew, Miguel Covington, of Gordon, Georgia; Goddaughter, Skai Ammons Moore, of Norfolk, Virginia; a host of other relatives.
