Felton Collins was born December 14th, 1947, in Tennille, GA to Fuchious and Imogene Collins. He was the 11th child of Fuchious and Imogene.
After graduating from T.J. Elder High School in 1965, He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade ("The Redcatchers") between 1967 and 1969. After living in Atlanta for several years, Felton returned to Washington County in 1985. He married Kathy Batts (Sandersville) in March 1989, and from this union two children were born: Falon Charity Collins and Candace Lashone Collins. He worked at the U.S. Postal Office in Sandersville, GA as a mail carrier for over 20 years; he retired in 2007.
Felton was known for his kindness, support, and love for his family and community. He was a devout member and chairman of the deacon board at Georgia Grove Baptist Church in Tennille, GA.
On Friday, May 30th, 2025, Felton transitioned to life eternal. He was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will forever reside in our hearts and his legacy, exemplified by his dedication and compassion, will continue to inspire and guide us.
Felton was preceded in death by his parents, Fuchious and Imogene Collins; brothers, Aurthor James Collins, Booker Thomas Collins, David Collins, and McKinley Collins; sisters, Jettie Delores Collins, Helen C. Tremble, Christene E. Harris, and Charity Brown.
Those left to celebrate Felton's legacy of dedication and compassion are his daughters, Falon Collins and Candace Collins, brother, Jimmy Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
