It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Doris Adams, Milledgeville, Georgia. Ms. Adams passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11:00AM from the Victory Baptist Church Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment to follow from the Scenic Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Doris Liggins Adams was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Arthur Liggins, Sr. and Annie Mae Holsey Liggins in Baldwin County on July 25, 1949. She departed this life on March 10, 2023.
She attended Boddie High School. She was affectionately called Dada and was also known by “Bad Gal”. In her spare time she enjoyed family, fishing, cooking, shopping, playing spades and traveling.
Doris retired from Central State Hospital with thirty-four years as a Health Service Technician Lead. She really loved her clients and co-workers.
She is preceded in death by her son, Tony Adams; granddaughter, Jasmine Webb; three brothers, Arthur Liggins, Jr., Freddie Liggins, David Liggins; and one sister, Darlene Liggins Burney.
Cherished memories shall always remain in the hearts of her beloved family. Doris is survived by her daughters, Valeria (Glen) Todd and Tracy (Vince) Brown; son, Jerel (Uketa) Adams; brother, Curtis (Christine) Liggins; four sisters, Susie Mason, Ida Lee, Mary Hall and Lousie (Rick) Liggins; devoted niece, Lytice Callaway; a devoted friend, Lee Horne; fifteen grandchildren, including devoted granddaughter, Candace Gibson (Pumpkin); ten great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
