It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Doris Nelson Adams, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mrs. Adams passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM from the Union Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed in the Warren Chapel Church Cemetery, Hancock County, Georgia.
On February 7, 2022, our beloved Doris N. Adams journey on earth has ended. Her death occurred unexpectedly at Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon, GA. Doris N. Adams was the wife of the late Grover C. Adams and the mother of Tamara Adams, Macon, GA. She was born on August 21, 1950, in Milledgeville, GA (Baldwin County). Doris N. Adams graduated from J.F. Bodie High School. Throughout high school, she was a dedicated member of the majorette team. As an adult she was a devoted employee of Central State Hospital as a physical therapist technician where she retired after many years of service. Doris N. Adams was a talented seamstress, gardener, and cook. She loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Additionally, Ms. Adams was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Sorority. She has been an active member of Union Baptist Church since her youth. Doris N. Adams will be remembered by family members as a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, grandmother-in-law, cousin and friend. Loving memories shall be cherished in the hearts of her family, including her daughter, Tamara Adams (Tammy) of Macon, Georgia; late granddaughter, Casmir Lenise Sparks; grandson, Aaramis (Christina) Sparks; granddaughter-in-law of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; devoted and loving sister, Elizabeth (Floyd) Patterson; father, George (Ruby) Nelson. Doris N. Adams will also be remembered by a devoted cousin, Geraldine Harper; loving great grandchildren, Keeshawn M. Sparks, Makenize T. Burnett, Matthew T. Burnett, Airistina L. Sparks; uncle, Billy (Lillie Mae) Harper, Milledgeville, Georgia; cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
