It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Eula Mae Simmons, Haddock, Georgia. Mrs. Simmons passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the County Line Baptist Church Milledgeville, GA. Interment followed the services in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery Milledgeville, GA.
Deaconess Eula Mae Simmons also known as "Lillon" was born in Haddock, Georgia on January 05, 1944 to the parentage of the late James Curry, Sr. and the late Margaret Phillips Curry.
Deaconess Eula Mae Simmons was joined in matrimony to her husband, Deacon James Simmons on October 24, 1966.
She was educated in the Baldwin County School system. At an early age she joined County Line Baptist Church, where she later served as a faithful member. She joined the Deaconess Board in 2005 under the leadership of Pastor Glover. She retired from the Baldwin County School system as a baker and as a cook from the Green Acres Nursing Home.
She really enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren & great grandchildren as often as she could. She loved baking & cooking and she loved feeding everyone.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-six years, Deacon James Simmons; sisters and brothers, Harold Freeman, Lucinda Casey, James Curry, Jr., Sidney Curry and Emmanual Curry.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her four sons, James Louis Simmons, Jr., Tony Jerome Simmons, Troy Bernard Simmons and Michael Craig Simmons; four sisters, Linda Curry, JoAnn Curry of Milledgeville, GA, Ruby Curry and Laverne Curry of Macon, GA; six brothers, Milton Curry, Kelvin Curry of Milledgeville, GA, Willie Curry, Larry Curry, Mitchell Curry and Walter Curry, all of Macon, GA; three aunts, Mattie Burnett, Helen Thomas and Beatrice Flemming; uncle, Tom Curry of Milledgeville, GA; sisters-in-law, Helen Thomas, Jessica Curry and Mary Curry; brothers-in-law, Morgan Casey, Larry Simmons and Arthur Simmons; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one God daughter, Dorothy Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
