We never lose the ones we love, for love itself lives on, and the joy we knew together is never really gone. It lives in precious memories of those who were so dear, memories that bring comfort and keep our loved ones near. Mr. William (June) Smith Jr, our beloved Father wondered into a new land of eternal life on December 11, 2021 surrounding by his loving children & family. Although absent from our midst, he will never be absent from the ones who love him most. William was born August 26, 1940 in Baldwin County to the parentage of the late William Smith, Sr and the late Mrs. Isabella Humphries Smith. He was reared with the helping hand of the late Parthenia C. Smith (step-mother). His education was received in the public schools of Baldwin County where he graduated from J.F. Boddie High School, Class of 1959. He was employed by McGaw Laboratories for 24 years until plant closure in 1986, and retired in 2002 from Bill E. Ireland YDC after 15 years of service. William confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and joined Pine Ridge Baptist Church; he served on the deacon board and as church treasurer until his health declined in 2021. William loved to work in his garden, love farming with his pigs and cows, cutting grass, especially watching The Price is Right and the Wheel of Fortune and spending time with his family. William was united in Holy Matrimony to Rosa Mae Davis on April 12, 1964 and to this union three children were born. Preceding him in death is his loving wife Rosa Mae Davis Smith, one brother, Robert Smith, and three sisters, Mattie D. Grant, Alfreda Richardson, and Evelyn Myrick and one brother-in-law, Louis Speights, Jr. His memories will always be cherished by his devoted children; Alvin J. Smith, Valencia O. Smith, and Velicia E. Smith, all of Milledgeville, GA; one loving sister, Emma Speights of Milledgeville, GA; one sister[1]in-law, Rosa Lee Moss of Eatonton, GA; and one brother-in-law, Theodore Myrick of Milledgeville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, cousins and friends; two great nieces he raised as his grandchildren, Jasmine Lusane and Jermila Ingram.
