It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Deacon MC Daniels, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Daniels passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Second Macedonia Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed from the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia. 

Deacon MC Daniels, 84, of Milledgeville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones.

 

He was born on September 07, 1938 to the late M.B, and Essie Darrien Daniels in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was raised by his grandmother, the late Hannah Williams.

 

He was employed as a Correctional Officer/Training Officer at Georgia Women’s Correctional Institution in Milledgeville for 34 years until retirement. During his employment there, he drove taxi cabs, a bus at Georgia College, and he worked several other part-time jobs, as well as Central State Hospital.

 

He was a member of Baldwin Lodge #159, Prince Hall Affiliated Masons.

 

He leaves to mourn: His loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Martha Ann Daniels (m. October 01, 1963); two favorite nephews: Cedric Bernard Davis of Milledgeville and Dara Patrick Davis of Eatonton; his brothers: Austel (Carolyn) Daniels, Assad Daniels, Thomas (Dorothy) Daniels, Myron (Jacqueline) Daniels, and Alfonso Daniels; his sisters: Barbara Daniels, Diane Daniels McCray and Louise Ward; sisters-in-law: Mary Lizzie Jackson, Hattie Mae Samuels, and Ruby Lee Davis; brother-in-law: Willie (Doris) Davis, all of Milledgeville; two devoted nephews: Deacon Larry Foster and Leon Samuels, Jr., of Milledgeville and two dedicated friends that called frequently, Rufus & Christine Wright and a host of other cousins, family and friends.
