David Jackson, a cherished husband, brother, father, and son, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, entering eternal rest. Born December 25, 1952, to James Jackson Sr. and Leola Mosley Jackson, he brought his family joy and pride throughout his lifetime.
He attended public schools in Bibb County and graduated from Northeast High School. Continuing his studies at Macon Junior College, David majored in Sociology and Mathematics and later earned a certificate in Computer Technology. Renowned for his checkers' prowess, he won several championships and built lasting friendships around the game board.
David served in the United States Army as a PFC E3 until being wounded in action, after which he was honorably discharged. He later found his calling as an entrepreneur, founding businesses like Economy Taxes, where he prepared tax returns; Economy Taxi, through which he offered transportation services and formed many friendships; and a vending machine business supplying snacks to the community. He demonstrated a natural talent for building enterprises and a strong commitment to helping others and giving back.
He is predeceased by his father, James Jackson, Sr.; his mother, Leola Mosely Mason; and his oldest brother, James Jackson, Jr.
David's legacy lives on through his loving wife, Vivian Jackson; four sons—David Jackson Jr. (Macon, GA), Robert Jackson (Decatur, GA), Victor Jackson (Sparta, GA), and Samuel Jackson (Macon, GA); four stepdaughters—Monique Lee (Macon, GA), Yolanda Conaway (Palo Alto, CA), Kesha Barnes (Suffolk, VA), Zabrina Bolden (Suffolk, VA); two sisters—Rochelle Jackson (Lawrenceville, GA) and Robin Jackson (Gray, GA); two brothers—Jerry Jackson (Winston Salem, NC), Michael Jackson (Mount Holly, NC); six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will continue to honor his memory.
