Corine Liggins Driskell, affectionately known as “Honey” was born October 24, 1922, in Dublin, Georgia to the late Edd and Annie Butts Liggins.
Early in her life the family relocated to Baldwin County, where she attended school at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Her life was centered around her family whom she loved, cherished and nurtured. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Charlie Driskell, Sr. She joined Spring Hill Baptist Church and remained a faithful member, becoming the mother of the church.
“Honey” was employed by Mr. John E. and Martha Dumas Johnson. Working with Ms. Martha Johnson brought much love to many of the families and their children at Humpty Dumpty Kindergarten, First Methodist Church and First Baptist Church. Corine not only worked for Martha, but they became friends and family. Corine was loved by all who knew her.
On December 12, 2024, in the peacefulness of her home, surrounded by family and loved ones, our beloved Corine, “Honey” as she was known, went home to be with the Lord.
Cherished memories shall cling to the hearts of her beloved family: including three sons, Leroy (Carolyn) Liggins, Charlie (Ranae) Driskell, Jr., and Calvin Driskell, all of Milledgeville, GA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, great nephews, nieces, great nieces; a host of other relatives and friends.
