It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Clemon Reeves, Jr., of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Reeves passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 12:00 NOON from the Victory Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Mr. Clemon Reeves Jr. was born to the late Mr. Clemon Reeves, Sr. and the late Mrs. Kate E. Phelps Reeves in Baldwin County on June 30, 1943 and departed this life on March 29, 2022. He was a long-time, dedicated Deacon at Mt. Hope CME Church in Milledgeville, GA. Clemon was a kind, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years together and married 27, Pastor Roxie Reeves. Clemon served in the United States Army as a Specialist and attended the Baldwin County public school system. He retired after dedicating 34 years to the State of Georgia (CSH). Clemon was a devoted member of The Brothers and Sisters of Help. Some of his hobbies included, supporting his favorite local (Baldwin Co.) and state level sports (Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs), reading, completing puzzles, and spending time with his family. Cherished memories shall always remain in the hearts of his beloved family. Mr. Clemon Reeves Jr. is survived by his daughter Towanda Reeves-Downing (William); step-son Robert Lee Cleveland, Jr.(Andrea) ; step-daughters Mrs. Doris Tuft(William) and Ms. Atoya Brown; Mrs. Robin Cleveland Hawkins(Clinton); Mrs. Samerica McNealy(Terrence); and adopted-daughter, Mrs. Alexious Spikes-Jenkins(Perron), all of Milledgeville, GA. 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Mr. Dennis Reeves(Earnestine), Mr. Lee Reeves; sisters Bertha Palmer, Mary Reeves, Elizabeth Reeves, Dorothy Reeves, Bernice Saulsbury (George). He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Reeves(Lisa) of Boyds, Maryland and daughter Jasmine Reeves; sister, Lois Thomas (Johnny) of Milledgeville, GA and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
