Clarence Macklin was born January 02, 1963, to the late Mr. Edward Macklin and the late Mrs. Katherine Macklin in Hancock County.
Clarence attended public school in both Hancock and Baldwin County. He was employed for over 14 years at Central State Hospital in the Grounds Keeping Department.
Clarence, known as “Man” to some and “Brick”, to others, enjoyed helping others within his community. He was regularly sought after to help others with their automobiles, plumbing, lawn care, or whatever was needed. He was truly a “jack of all trades”.
Clarence himself found true enjoyment in hunting, fishing, listening to country music, and watching Westerns. Clarence did not like to sit still, he enjoyed being outside doing whatever needed to be done.
On Friday, November 07, 2025, after a prolonged battle with cancer, Clarence entered rest with his brother by his side.
Clarence is survived by his sons: VaShawn Macklin and Derrick Butts (Ta'shauna Whipple); grandchildren: Jebriah Curry, Derrick Butts, Jr., Ariana Butts, and De'asia Butts; siblings: Myra Macklin, Janice M. Thomas (Rayford L. Thomas), Joyce R. Macklin, and Taurus Macklin (Tiffany Macklin); a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
