With hearts full of love, gratitude, and deepest reverence for her life, we celebrate the radiant spirit of Chiquita Olympia Danzy, who peacefully completed her earthly journey after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 22, 1980, Chiquita brought grace, kindness , and a gentle strength into the world - qualities that touched every person blessed to know her. She fought a good fight, kept her faith, and finished her race wrapped tenderly in love of her family and friends on November 24, 2025.
A proud graduate of Washington County High School, class of 1999, Chiquita went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia College & State University in 2004. She built a meaningful and devoted career with the City of Milledgeville, as their first African American Finance Director, faithfully serving for 20 years. Affectionately known as “Shay” by her colleagues, she was admired for her professionalism, steady presence, and unwavering dedication. Her love for numbers and detail led her to serve as the bookkeeper for Flagg Chapel - a role she fulfilled with integrity and heartfelt purpose.
At the center of Chiquita’s world was love - especially the love she shared with Renaldo Taylor, the man who held her heart. Their bond was a true love story, filled with warmth, laughter, shared dreams, and a deep connection that carried them through each season of their life. Throughout her illness, Chiquita displayed extraordinary courage and grace and never complained. Her devoted mother, Mary Danzy, stood faithfully by her side - loving, comforting, and supporting her with unwavering devotion. In her final moments, Chiquita was surrounded by those she loved most - hands held tightly, prayers whispered gently and songs of hope and peace filling the room.
