Chester Upton, a cherished and valued member of the community, was born on November 6, 1988, to Chester G. Upton III and Joanne Johnson Upton. A proud graduate of Baldwin County High School, Chester embraced a life defined by dedication and hard work. After exploring various career paths, he pursued his education at South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia, and later studied Horticulture and Landscaping at South Georgia Technical College in Americus, Georgia. His love for nature flourished into a thriving landscaping business, a testament to his creativity, determination, and skill.
Chester's faith was deeply rooted in his upbringing, as he attended church with his mother and grandmothers during his formative years. Multifaceted and passionate, he was admired for his talents, with cooking and fishing standing out as his greatest joys. His love for fishing was well-known, and he found solace and connection with nature every time he cast a line. Chester's kindness and unwavering devotion to his family will forever be remembered. A man who would do anything for his children, Chester leaves behind a legacy of love, skill, and joy that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Chester was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, William (Mary) Johnson, and Chester (Mary) Upton.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted parents, Chester (Denise) Upton III, Joanne Upton (Paul Dennis) his former spouse, Shanetra Ross; and his cherished children: Travion, Seriya, Karson, and Ja'Lonni Upton.
He is further survived by his siblings, Sylvester (Connie) Johnson, William Upton, and Brian (Kourtney) Davis. Chester was also deeply loved by his aunts and uncle: Mary Carr, Barbara Jean Johnson, Charlotte (Gregory) Fields, Melissa (Kenneth) Hinkle, Sharon Upton, and Charles Upton. His god sisters, Janesika and Shakira Sanders, and Vera Fields, held a special place in his heart.
Chester will also be dearly missed by his treasured friend, Mr. Robbie Hattaway Jr., and family, Also his long time fishing partner Lee Anderson, along with a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
