It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mr. Charles W. Thomas, 66, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Thomas passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Bundrage Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Mr. Charles W. Thomas, more fondly known as “Bae-Bae” as a child, was born May 12, 1955, in Baldwin County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Charlie Thelmon Thomas, Jr. and the late Olene Devereaux Thomas. He was the grandson of the late Charlie & Rosa Thomas and the late Thomas & Georgia Emma Devereaux. He was also proceeded in death by his late brothers Leon Thomas and Lynwood Thomas, both of Milledgeville, GA. Charles, age 66, was taken away from us on the evening of Monday, January 10th, 2022. Born as the last child of the crew, he had seven older siblings and developed a close bond with all of them. In his youth, Charles enjoyed his flashy cars, fashionable clothing, sports and a host of game shows, Wheel of Fortune being his favorite. Prior to enlisting in the United States Army, Charles pursued a degree in Accounting at Georgia College. As a young man, Charles, who was always family oriented, also entered matrimony to Ms. Gladys Williams. After leaving the military, Charles obtained employment with Central State Hospital. Charles was a believer, of our Lord Jesus Christ and lead an active prayer life. Charles shall be remembered by his family and friends, for his giving spirit, his quick wit, and his accounting skills. Cherished memories will always cling to the hearts of his beloved family. Charles is survived by brother, Mr. Herbert Thomas of Milledgeville; sisters, Mrs. Lucile Williams, Mrs. Nettie Mae Williams, Mrs. Betty Jean Thomas, and Mrs. Clara Thomas Omobude, all of Milledgeville; uncle, Frank Thomas of Philadelphia; aunts, Mrs. Rosa Lee Reeves, and Mrs. Laurette Rhodes, both of Milledgeville; devoted friend and cousin, Rev. Odell Thomas; devoted friend, Calvin Lamar; nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives also survive.
The family would like to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness. However, due to COVID 19 precautions they ask for privacy and no visitors at this time.
