Mr. Charles Butts was born on January 1, 1948, to the parentage of the late Joe Butts and Mary Virginia Butts in Baldwin County, Milledgeville, GA.

He was a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many people. Charles lost his life at Augusta University Medical Center on February 16, 2024.

Charles attended Boddie Jr. High School and graduated in 1968. He was employed with Engelhard for forty years until he retired. He was joined in Holy matrimony to Lisa Ann Harris on December 18, 2018.

Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Callaway, Joseph Butts, Lucius Butts; his mother-in-law, Mary Helen Harris.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Lisa Harris Butts; four daughters, Stacy (Benjamin) Gordon of Gordon, GA, Cassandra Butts of Milledgeville, GA, Ashley (Antonio) Clower of Gray, GA, Crystal (Eric) Evans of Macon, GA; five sons, Lerenzo (Regina) Harrold of Gordon, GA, Victor Butts of Milledgeville, GA, Phillip (Karyn) Shinholster of Irwinton, GA, Kendrick Shinholster of Gordon, GA, Charles Butts, Jr. (Jaquelia Hughes) of Milledgeville, GA; three stepchildren, Antonio Havior, Charmika (Alex) Davis, Sammie Harris; thirty-eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Mary Will Steele, Mary Callaway, Mary Harris, all of Milledgeville, GA, Brenda Hogan of Jones County, GA, Diane Haddock of Augusta, GA; brother-in-law, James Harris, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA; close cousins, Mary Frances Parham, Estella Lockette of Miami, FL; a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
