Charity Brown was born on October 1, 1931, in Tennille, Georgia, to the late Fucious and Imogene Collins.
After graduation from T.J. Elders High School in 1947. She relocated to New York City, where she met and married her late husband, Bobby Brown. In 1970, she returned to Washington County to care for her mother and father until their death.
Charity was well-known for her love and support for her family and community. She was a faithful member and mother of Georgia Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located in Tennille, Georgia, for over 20 years.
She worked as a seamstress for R.J. Studdard Co. in Tennille, Georgia, for many years before retiring there. After retiring, she volunteered her time visiting and fellowshipping with residents of local nursing homes.
She is survived by her two brothers, Felton Collins and Jimmy Collins, both of Harrison, Georgia, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Charity Brown, a beacon of kindness and love, will forever reside in our hearts. Her legacy, exemplified by her dedication and compassion, will continue to inspire and guide us.
