Mrs. Catherine Stephens was born November 7, 1947, to the parentage of the late Don Mason and the late Georgianna Walls Mason. She was the twelfth of fifteen children.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Earnestine Mason; five brothers, Don Mason Jr., Jasper Mason, Oliver Mason, Bennie Mason, and James Mason; eight sisters, Georgia Mae Butts, Louvenia Stanton, Maude Butts, Mary Butts, Louise Grable, Geraldine Mason, Gennie Trawick, and Carrie Primas; also, a niece, Augustine Jones.

Catherine, affectionately known as “Gue,” was educated in the Baldwin County School System and attended Boddie Jr. High School. At an early age, she became a Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church member until her health declined. Catherine retired after 30 years in School Nutrition for the Baldwin County School System. After retiring, she enjoyed watching her beloved soap operas and actively shopping at her beloved Wal-Mart. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt who would always open her door to her family in need.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two beloved sons, Erick Stephens and Terrico Simmons (Grandson whom she raised); one sister, Evereane Mitchell; one sister-in-law, Katie Mae Mason; two brothers-in-laws, Tommy Butts Sr. and James Trawick; lifelong devoted caregivers and nieces, Lillian Waller, Christine Finney, Louise Lango, & Bernestine Hill; devoted nephews, Kourtney Mason, Willie Mason, Calvin Mason, Daniel Mason, and James Mason.
