It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Catherine P Austin, Irwinton, Georgia. Mrs. Austin passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Friendship Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment to follow from the Brundage Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, McIntyre, Georgia. 

Ecclesiastes 12:7 And the dust returns to the earth as it was and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
 

Catherine Pearson Austin was born on March 27, 1954 to the parentage of the late Clara Bell Kemp Pearson and the late Cecil Eugene Pearson, Sr. Catherine completed her education in the Baldwin County School System. At an early age she joined Friendship Baptist Church of Milledgeville, Georgia where she maintained a membership until her untimely death. Catherine was a lifelong devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of the Order of Easter Star for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending quality time at Lake Sinclair where she met many friends. Her passion was decorating her home and nurturing her many flowers.
 

On June 3, 1974 she was joined in holy matrimony to Willie T. Austin. To this union 7 children were reared. She is preceded in death by her son, Dedric Austin; Father, Cecil Eugene Pearson Mother, Clara Pearson; sisters, Geraldine Pearson Hill and Bettie Ruth Pearson; brothers, Johnny Lee Williams Sr and Cecil Eugene Pearson Jr; father-in-law, Joe C. Davis; brother in laws: David Jones and Robert Taylor. 

She leaves cherished memories to a loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Willie T. Austin. Children, Antry (Carletha) Pearson, Dexter Austin, DeMarco Austin, Torry Austin, Artaveus Austin, Keydra (Roger) Austin-Bonner, DayQuan Austin; Daughter-in-law, Yashica Austin: 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Mothers In law: Ethel Lue Smith of Milledgeville, Georgia and Christine Davis of Michigan. Five sisters Mildred (Danny) Garfield and Gennette Pearson of Detroit, Michigan, Ruby Johnson, Lillie Mae (Billy) Harper and Gussie Adams of Milledgeville, Georgia. Sisters in law: Joanne (Vincent) Bray, Cheryl McClee, Carolyn (Raymond) Reese, Grenee Hunter, all of Michigan. Brothers in law: Damon Davis of Atlanta Georgia and Danny (Wanda) Houze of Michigan. A host of nieces nephews and other relatives.
