Ms. Betty Joyce Satcher Jones, of Milledgeville, Georgia departed this life on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Navicent Health, Macon, Georgia.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Betty Joyce Satcher Jones departed this life August 17th, 2021, in the confines of the Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon, GA. She was the oldest of five children born on August 16th, 1949, to the parentage of the late Fannie Washington Satcher, and George Satcher, Sr. of Milledgeville, Baldwin County. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Barbara Diane Satcher Adams and Ronnie Satcher. Betty's formative years were spent in Hancock County with her grandparents Myrtle Washington Brown and Tommie “Tom” Washington, who were pioneer citizens. She attended Hancock County Public schools and churches. She joined Second Beulah Baptist Church, where she was faithful. After relocating to Baldwin County, Betty attended its public schools (Harrisburg Elementary and J.F. Boddie High School) where she met and married Bernard Jones, Sr. To this union, they added a son, Bernard Jones, Jr. Soon after Betty began her career at Central State Hospital, she welcomed a daughter, Valerie Diane Jones-Ford. Betty retired with Central State Hospital after 30 years of faithful service. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” John 14:27 Beattie regular attended Friendship Baptist Church and was a member of his SoC. Bet it would say, “Nothing like good preaching and good fellowship”. Baby love to cook and entertain family and friends. She enjoyed a good time filled with writing and looking and shopping. Eating and enjoying a good conversation. She enjoyed watching her favorite reality television showed. She would ask, did you watch that show last night? They need to stop. What you say? Next week work. To mourn her are her children, Valerie Diane Jones Ford (Marquis) of Milledgeville, GA, and Bernard Jones, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia; her sisters, Annette Satcher, and brother, George Satcher, Jr., both of Milledgeville, GA; her grandchildren: Quistan Grissom, Terrance Simpson III, Khalid Mitchell, and Sierra Jones. Her devoted nieces: Chrysanthia Webb Latimore, Andrea J. Webb, and one devoted nephew, Thomas Adams, Jr.; her devoted cousins: Joann Weaks Hartry, Patricia Glenn (Jeffrey), Elder Donna Davis Barnes, and Ouida Bridges. Her devoted friends and extended family of Meadows Road and the East Milledgeville area
