It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Ms. Bessie Farlar, Gray, Georgia. Ms. Farlar passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 13,2022 at 11:00AM from the Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment will be held from the Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia.
On September6, 2022 Bessie Farlar completed her work on this side and joyfully accepted her call to go home to be with the Lord.
Bessie was born in Haddock, Georgia on December 22, 1955, to the Late Harry Ross, Sr. and Christine Ross.
She attended the public schools of Jones and Baldwin County and later worked in several manufacturing plants and majority of her life as a housewife. She was a member of Greater Jordan Chapel AME Church of Haddock, Georgia until her health declined. She enjoyed shopping, dressing up in clothing, cooking, and fishing. She also loved the outside and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Harry Ross, Sr.; brothers, Larry Ross and Harry Ross, Jr .and sister, Rosa Ross.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother Christine Ross; four sons, Tyrone Ross, Kerry Farlar (Lakishia), Tellis Farlar(Regina),Kourtney Farlar; three sisters ,Gloria Middlebrooks ,Fannie Ross ,Katina Ross; sister-in-law, Florine Ross; grandchildren, Leandrea Collins, MaKayla Farlar, Ashley Farlar ,Anthony Johnson, Karliegh Farlar, Tellis Davis; two great grandchildren, Kyzier Collins and Ivy Collins; two aunts, Marie Ross, Annie Balkcom ; one uncle, Clayton Ross; devoted friends, Carolann Cherry, Ann Pope, Dawyna Farlar, Nathaniel Farlar, Dezanna Bell; companion, Donald Anderson; devoted nephew and care taker, Marius(Mop) Middlebrook.
