Berean Gilbert was born April 15, 1958, to the parentage of Sterling Hall, Sr. and Willie Mae Baker Hall.

She was a graduate of Boddie High School, Class of 1978. 

Berean was married to George Ray for many years.  They were blessed with three children. She later met and married Glenn Gilbert. This union lasted for thirty-two years. 

She loved the Lord; this was evident by her faithful attendance at Gum Hill Baptist Church. She was known for keeping a clean house. Her hobbies included cleaning, shopping and having nice clothes, cooking, and talking on the phone with her siblings. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Sterling Hall, Sr., mother, Willie Mae Baker Hall; brother Willie Hall, Sterling Hall, Jr., Larry Hall, Randy Hall; brothers-in-law, Joseph Hall, Clinton Neal, Rufus Barnes, Greg Turner, Lester Carswell. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Mr. Terrell (Barbara) Ray, Mr. Reco (Maurita) Ray, Mr. Maurice (Olivia) Ray Sr.; daughter Aliki Bridges; grandchildren, Amelia, Jordan, Jacques, Tyrec, Tyrel, Maurice Jr., Justin, Malaya, King, Jalen, Victor, Kayla and Keli; sisters, Jonnie Neal of Macon, GA., Patsy Hayes, Erma (Melvin) Barnes, Evelyn (Melvin) Hogan, Ruby (Zack) Barnes, Debra Turner, Sarah (Leon) Samuels, Loletta Hall, all of Milledgeville, GA; three brothers, Joseph Hall, Leroy (Elaine) Hall, Roscoe Hall; one aunt Lillie Hall; stepmother, Barbara Hall; sisters-in law Irma Hall, Christine Hall, Mary Hall, and Linda Hall; three brothers-in-law Charlie (Deborah) Gilbert, Willie (Angela) Carswell, Steve (Linda) Collins; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Anthony) Watson, Delois (Eric) Jordan, April Carswell, Shirley Ann (Donald) Willis, and Glenda Sanders; a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Gum Hill Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment followed.
