Mr. Benjamin J. Andrews, Milledgeville, Georgia departed from labor to reward on Saturday, May 2, 2020 from the Chaplinwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Graveside services were held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the St. Mary's Baptist Church Cemetery, Sparta, Georgia.
Deacon Benjamin Jefferson Andrews affectionately known as B.J. was born on August 6, 1945 to Ceola and Cora Andrews. Deacon Andrews entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Goodman Andrews and his sons, Benjamin Andrews, Jr., and James Gregory Andrews.
At a young age, he joined the Second Beulah Baptist Church where he served faithfully for over 70 years. Deacon Andrews served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board for over 40 years.
“BJ” was educated in the Hancock County School System. Following school, he was employed by Fowler Flemister for 34 years as a mechanic up until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, family gatherings, talking with his many friends and reading his bible.
Deacon Andrews leaves to cherish: four sons; Mr. John (Emma) Andrews of Ellenwood, GA, Wilson (Geraldine) Andrews of Milledgeville, GA, Ronnie (Denise) Andrews of Gray, GA, and Jerome Davis of Sparta, GA; four daughters, Marie Bonner, Edna (Frank) Forney, Betty Jackson, both of Milledgeville, GA, Barbara Warren, Atlanta, GA, and Betty Jackson, Milledgeville, GA; three sisters, Bessie Lewis of Riverdale, GA, Edna Daughtery of Milledgeville, GA, and Dorothy Flagg of College Park, GA; four sisters-inlaw, Mattie Rivers, Catherine (Roger) Thomas, Eula (Elijah) Goodman, and Evelyn Goodman; one daughter-in-law, Vonda Andrews; 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; devoted grandsons, Trent, Batieste (Bo), and Dontyce; devoted nephew, Alex; devoted friend, Eva Willis, Milledgeville, GA.
