Azzie Lee (McClure) Yarbrough

Mrs. Azzie Lee McClure Yarbrough, of Milledgeville, Georgia departed this life on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Coliseum Medical Center, Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 12:00 NOON from the Holloman Grove Holiness Church, McIntyre, Georgia. Interment followed in the church cemetery.Ms. Azzie Lee McClure Yarbrough was born October 21st, 1948 in Union County, Monroe North Carolina to the parentage of the late Lucille Allen McClure and Willie McClure.

Ms. Azzie Began her education at Western Union School in North Carolina. In December 1964, she moved to Georgia and graduated with the C/O 1968 from Calhoun High in Wilkinson County. She was one of the first to walk in the integrated school, and also wrote their theme song. Later, she went on to get her Bachelors in nursing from Georgia College. She was named valedictorian of her class.

Ms. Azzie loved to sing, dance, showing off her love for hats and enjoyed eating her seafood.

Ms. Azzie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Zebede Ruffing, Robert Ruffing, CJ McClure and Ervin McClure; two sisters: Elizabeth McClure, Ola Steele; one great grandchild, MaKensie McClure.

Ms. Azzie leaves to cherish her love for all, her family, Marion Thurman, two children: LaTonya (Jackie) Miliner, Cedric Yarbrough; three sisters: Juanita Birdsong, Louise Ruffin, Rosa Ballard; four grandchildren: Xavius McClure, Keira Miliner, Kiandra Roberson, Jakari Trawick; three great grandchildren; devoted friend, Ada Hurt, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
