Mrs. Ashley Kierra Butts peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, June 22, 2026. She transitioned in the comfort of her home surrounded by loving family and friends. Ashley put on a seven - year battle with cancer. Despite her illness, she remained courageous, faithful, and determined to live life to the fullest with the ones she loved the most.

Ashley earned her high school diploma from Baldwin High School in Milledgeville, Georgia, graduating with the Class of 2011. She later attended Georgia Military College, where she earned an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Criminal Justice. Ashley continued her education at Troy University, where she obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Criminal Justice.

Ashley was a devoted member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Corey Smith. She was employed at GEO Correctional Facility before beginning her career at Milledgeville Youth Challenge Academy as a Cadre worker and later promoted as a Counselor, where she worked until the academy's closure in 2020. Ashley continued her passion for serving others by working part-time as a substitute teacher with the Baldwin County School District whenever her health permitted.

Ashley cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by family and friends. She had a gift for planning gatherings, organizing memorable trips with her husband and loved ones, and bringing people together. She also enjoyed serving others. The memories she created and the love she shared will be treasured forever.

Ashley had a servant's heart and genuinely enjoyed helping others. She proudly continued her grandmother's tradition of making and sharing her special chicken salad, sharing not only a beloved recipe but also the love and joy it brought to others.

Ashley was born August 17, 1993 to the parentage of Stacy Henderson Pierce and James Stanley Lynn. She was preceded in death by her father “Stan”, and her grandmother Elaine “Rita” Henderson.  

Ashley is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Frank Butts; her precious son, Jayden Havior, who was the joy of her life; her fur baby Bella; her stepchildren, Shakyla, Je'Niya, Legend, Denarius, and Jaquavius; and a grandson whom she reared as her own son, Kamir Gates. She is also survived by her mother, Stacy Henderson Pierce and stepdad, Kimberly Pierce, her sisters: Jameria, Samalia (Aundare), Jessica, and Erica; her brother Isaiah Pearson; her stepsiblings, Karon (Michael), Shaquana, and Dartrell; her goddaughter, Ty'Keira; devoted uncle, Harold “Buck” Henderson Sr. (Evelyn), devoted aunt, Tiffany Williams (Wynard); devoted god aunts, Alicia French (Tommy), Tracy Bundrage (RC), Gladys Christopher; devoted friend, Terrance Francis and her bonus mother, Valeria Russell  and a host of more  beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
