Anna Louise (Reeves) Davis

It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater’s Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Anna L. Davis, 92, of Milledgeville, Georgia. Mrs. Davis passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

Graveside services for Mrs. Anna Louise Davis were held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 12:00 NOON at the Fishing Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Louise Reeves Davis was born in Baldwin County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Harry Reeves and the late Mrs. Mamie Reeves. She was called “Lou” or “Aunt Lou” by most of her family members. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Elder Isaiah Davis, Sr on November 24, 1946. They journeyed through life many years together (over 60) as one under God. Their union was blessed with six children of whom one son, James Lee Davis preceded them in death. Mrs. Davis is also preceded in death by some of her siblings, Mrs. Mary Pearl Wooden, Mrs. Annie Mae Simmons, Mrs. Mamie Bell Williams, and Mr. Turner Reeves. She was a dedicated member of Fishing Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She spent her early years as a dedicated homemaker in strong support to her husband and children. Later in life, she started working in the Laundry Department at Central State Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Davis had a very strong faith in the Spirit of God which she sought for peace and comfort during times of burden. She loved to share her faith with others of all generations and beliefs. Stating a few more words about her, she held strong moral values, loved being around people, visiting the sick, teaching spiritual ways of life, helping those in need, traveling (starting on the road at 3 a.m. – no problem), cooking, taking responsibility and leadership (instilled from childhood since being the oldest of her siblings.) Also, she was humble and down to earth. People around her felt welcome. She is greatly missed but memories of her will continue to be an inspiration to many. On Sunday, November 28, 2021, our beloved Mrs. Anna Davis, went home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Mary Tolbert (Dennis, JR) of Milledgeville, GA; sons include, Deacon Isaiah Davis, JR (Paulette), Minister Harold G. Davis, Mr. Ezekiel Davis (Carol), all of Milledgeville, GA and Mr. Aaron Davis (Jan) of Byron, GA; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She shall also be mourned by her sisters, Mrs. Daisy Mae Davis of Sparta, Georgia, Mrs. Sara Daniels, Mrs. Georgia M. Hayes (Joe), and Mrs. Naomi R. Morris, all of Albany Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
