It is with sympathy, the management and staff of Slater's Funeral Home, Inc. announce the passing of Mrs. Alice Slater Ford, Milledgeville, Georgia. Mrs. Ford passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Celebration of life services were held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the New Hope Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment to follow from the Council Cemetery, Milledgeville Georgia.

Alice Roberta Slater Ford was born November 13, 1943, to the parentage of Aretha Cannie and Lester Slater.

She attended Wilkinson County Public School. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years.

Alice loved watching Christian television programs and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as children in the Baldwin County Community.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Aretha Cannie, father, Lester Slater, her sisters, Annie Primas, Brenda Mathis, and Ruby Cannie.

Alice transitioned from mortality to immortality on March 28, 2023.

She leaves behind six children, Jo Ann Shinholster of Macon, GA, Willie James Wilkerson (Kaletha) of Milledgeville, GA , Amy Miller of Milledgeville, GA, Mary Turner of Milledgeville, GA , Sharon Miller (Tommie) of Milledgeville, GA, and Anderson Ford III (Joy) of St. Mary's, GA; two sisters, Justine Ford (Herbert) and Mary Ann Moore, both of McIntyre, GA; five brothers, Morris Lewis, Lonnie (Angel) Anderson, both of Milledgeville, GA, Elliot Slater of Charleston, NC, Lester Slater Jr. of Bronx, NY, and Reggie Slater of Salt Lake City, UT; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, including a devoted cousin, Adelle Harvell; other relatives and friends.
