Alden Patrick Ellis, Sr., a father, grandfather, veteran, and hardworking craftsman, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 23, 1948, in Clarksville, Tennessee, Alden lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep pride in his family.
After serving his country honorably in the United States Army, Alden built a life rooted in perseverance and service. He spent his career as an electrical worker and maintenance engineer, earning the reputation of a true handyman and jack of all trades. If something needed fixing, Alden found a way to get it done, usually himself. In 1983, he settled in Augusta, Georgia, which he would call home until moving to Macon, Georgia in 2010.
Alden was raised in the Baptist church and, in his later years, joined Beulahland Bible Church in Macon, Georgia. Because of his steadfast work ethic, even in illness, he remained a figure of strength and resilience for those around him.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as watching old Westerns and crime documentaries, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, whose accomplishments filled him with immense pride. Never one to sit still, Alden stayed active and, on the move, often lending his time and skills to help others.
He is survived by his children: Alden Patrick Ellis, Jr. and Charm (James) Mapp; his stepchildren: Harold Barttley, Jr. and Jermaine Barttley; and his beloved grandchildren: Erika Epps, Patrick Ellis, Jackson Ellis, Trinity Pace, and Daniel Pace. He also leaves behind his sisters: Margaret Dale, Mary Otey, and Kathy Martin. Throughout his life, he loved his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alden was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Reese, and his siblings: Earvin Williams, Wanda Bourne, Larry Ellis, and Philbert Reese.
Alden Patrick Ellis, Sr. will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored by all who knew him.
