Mr. Albert Chester, formerly of the Beulah Community, Hancock County, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Regency Hospital, Macon, Georgia.
Graveside services were held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 11:00AM from the Second Darien Baptist Church Cemetery.
According to Matthew, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in the heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Mr. Albert Chester was born December 14, 1945 to the parentage of the late Mr. Louis Thomas and the late Ms. Nancy Chester in Hancock County, Georgia where he attended public schools.
Mr. Chester worked early years employment at J.P. Stevens of Milledgeville, GA and worked odd jobs as a general laborer and self entrepreneur.
Albert was widely known throughout his community as helpful, dependable, and dedicated. He enjoyed the simple activities of listening to old school jams, and playing bingo and various board games with friends.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2020 our beloved one entered eternal rest.
Albert Chester was preceded in death by wife, Annie Ruth Chester and a stepson, Leon Albert James Durden. He will be deeply missed by his family which include: one daughter, Bernice Durden of Sparta, GA; two sons, Venson Chester of Atlanta, GA and Dwayne Chester of Macon, GA; a stepson, Alvin James Durden of Sparta, GA; three sisters, Ms. Geraldine Chester, Mrs. Wendy Primas (Johnny) both of Sparta, GA, and Mrs. Willie Mae Jones (Freddie Sr.) of Milledgeville, GA; four brothers, Mr. Danny Butts, Mr. Alonzo Butts, Mr. Ricky Thomas (Vickie), all of Sparta, GA and Mr. Michael Thomas of Milledgeville, GA; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A special acknowledgment of dedicated and supporting granddaughter, Constance Lamar.
