Graveside services were held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM from Scenic Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville, Georgia.

So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” Roman 14:8 Alan Cornelius Simmons, 47 years old, from Milledgeville passed away October 6, 2021. He was born on January 26, 1974, to the parentage of Debra Simmons and the late Claude Hill. He was born in Milledgeville, Georgia and raised in Westend. He was often referred to as “Punkin” by his family and close friends. Alan graduated from Baldwin High School with the class of 1993. He later attended Sandersville Technical College to obtain his Commercial Driver's License. He worked at BASF in McIntrye, Georgia where he was a dedicated Laborer. He was raised in the home with his grandmother (Juliette Simmons), grandfather (the late Joseph Simmons), and devoted aunt (Dianna Dennis). Alan was cared for by his family and friends from childhood to adulthood. Family was a big part of his life. He married Sheebra Greene Simmons in 2021, and they lived in Macon Georgia with his stepchildren, Jacob, and Jaquan Jr. Alan is also leaves to cherish his memories his daughters: Makeiley Brooks of Macon Georgia, Kashera (Merico) Ogburn of Hampton, Georgia, Quantasha Cannie of Fort Carson, Colorado, Alyiah Cannie and Anyiah Simmons of Milledgeville, Georgia. His stepdaughter Kiamber Hawkins of Milledgeville, Georgia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Alan has two sisters Linda (Phillip) Hill-Sanders, Sirnetheral McCrory both of Milledgeville, one brother Perry (Rowana) Todd, of McIntyre, Georgia. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Sandra Greene of Milledgeville, Georgia, a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Alan loved people, cooking, traveling, spending time with his family, and enjoying life. He and Sheebra never missed an opportunity to travel and enjoy life alone or with family and friends. Alan took gratitude in helping whomever he could. He greeted people also with laughter and a warm heart. He was a devoted Patriots fan. His friendship and kind words will be missed.
