Zenora Wright Odum

Mrs. Zenora Odum, of 657 Dunlap Road NE, Milledgeville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Green Pasture Baptist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mrs. Zenora Wright Odum “Zee” entered into this Life's rest in the afternoon of Thursday, August 22, 2019.

Zenora Odum was born July 11, 1935, to the late Jimmy Poole and Hennie Wright.

As a young lady Zenora attended Baldwin County schools. Zenora began her life as a mother and wife at the age of 14 when she married her life partner, the late, Mr. George Odum. Zenora was married for 35 years until her life partner was called home to glory. Throughout the years Zenora worked at Central State Hospital retiring with 26 years of service. She was also a dedicated caregiver to those in need even after her retirement.

She remained a faithful member of Green Pasture Church. During her years of worship Zenora was a member of the sweet chariot gospel choir and the senior choir. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing and gardening. She enjoyed friends and family time especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love for her family made her loved and respected by everyone that knew her.

“Zee,” as she was lovingly called leaves a legacy of Love. Those who know her will remember her as a loving, generous, and caring person. Zenora will forever live in the hearts of many. Zenora was preceded in death by her husband George Odum Sr., her son, George Odum Jr., her daughter, Frances Anderson, her sister, Agnes Gendraw, her mother, Hennie Wright, and father, Jimmy Poole. She leaves a legacy of love and memories in the hearts of her children, Carol O.Haper, Denise Odum, Larry Odum, and Pamela Odum (Curtis).Morgan, son-in-law Donald Anderson; siblings,Christine Nelson, Sammie (Rosa Lee) Gendraw, Michael (Alma Jean) Poole, Milton (Jean) Scott, ten grandchildren: Tashana Odum, Erica Odum (Corey) Myrick, Lenora Harper, Janeria Odum, Tasia Marshall, ZimeshaWest, Donna Edwards, Larry Odum Jr., Marques Odum and Carlos Anderson; 30 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Harriett O. French; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
