William Trawick Obituary

Mr. William “Bo” Trawick, of Sparta, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Green Acres Nursing Home, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Second Beulah Baptist Church, Sparta, Georgia. Interment followed in Hickory Cemetery, Sparta, Georgia.

Mr. William Douglas Trawick Sr. was born on January 20, 1925 to the parentage of the late Chancey C. Trawick and the late Susie Tucker Trawick. William attended the public schools of Hancock County.  He knew that one day he would have to make this transition, so he dedicated his life back to Christ by joining Second Beulah Baptist Church where he often sang in the choir. “Bo” as he was affectionately known by many married Mary Louise Davis-Trawick and to this union six beautiful children were born.

William was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and hard worker. He worked at the Saw Mill for many years before retiring to a profession of gardening and lawn care. If you saw his orange truck then you saw his trailer with his John Deere lawnmower. He was a comedian as well. There was never a dull moment with Bo as he always found a way to make you laugh.

William “PaPa” Trawick transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, July 19, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his wife of many years Mary L. Trawick, two sons David L. Trawick and Willie Reeves, and his siblings. Pop is survived by sons Robert (Justine) Trawick of Sparta, Ga, William (Bernice) Trawick of Sparta, Georgia, Milton (Glenda) Trawick of Sparta, Georgia, Johnny C. Trawick of Sparta, Ga. Daughters Jacqueline (Sammie) Shinholster of Irwinton, Georgia, and Rose (Lee) Harris of Detroit, Michigan, one sister in law Catherine (Roger) Thomas of Sparta, Ga, brother in law B.J Andrews of Milledgeville, Ga, 27 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, devoted family members and friends.
